Toyota is collaborating with East Japan Railway (JR East) and Hitachi to develop hybrid trains called HYBARI, whose source of energy will be hydrogen.
Therefore, this initiative joins others on which Toyota has already embarked, such as the heavy-duty hydrogen-powered lorries it is developing alongside Hino, as well as the fuel cell vehicles that operate as electric energy generators in emergencies: the bus it has designed alongside Honda and the lorry it is developing in collaboration with Denyo.
