日本からカステッロへ

CEJEの社長がカステリョン市議会主催のイベントに参加

On Friday, October 21st, the event “El Japó a Castelló” was inaugurated, a brand-new leisure proposal with a weekend filled with activities in various spots around the city, organized with the purpose of bringing Japanese culture and customs closer to the people of Castellón. The activities proposed to the attendees touched upon a wide array of themes within Japanese culture through music, gastronomy, film, exhibitions, talks, workshops, and expositions that brought Japan to Castellón for three days.

The event began with the inaugural act, held by the mayor of Castellón, Amparo Marco, and the Japanese Ambassador in Spain, Kenji Hiramatsu, who pointed out the strong ties that bring Castellón and Japan together as a reflection of the brotherhood with Ube City signed in 2019, which is showcased in activities such as this event.

During the first day of the event, Jorge Lasheras, president of the Japan-Spain Business Circle, was part of a business roundtable about energy sustainability and investments between Spain and Japan alongside the president of UBE Corporation Europe, Bruno de Bièvre, the director of Quality and Environment of Porcelanosa, Jorge Fabregat and the director of the Japan Research Group in the University of Zaragoza, Carmen Tirado.

Jorge Lasheras’ participation focused on the presence of Spanish businesses in Japan, exploring the challenged that Spanish businesses can face when it comes to penetrating the Japanese market. Mr Lasheras gave a global presentation about the bilateral economic relationship of the two nations, both from a commercial perspective and from an investment point of view. Afterwards, he took to explaining the success stories, difficulties and possible challenges that partake in enhancing our companies’ presence in Japan, through CEJE’s developed experience in the past year, in various roundtables with Spanish exporting groups from sectors such as agrifood or the chemical-pharmaceutical industry. He finished his participation by highlighting the importance of having a good business partner in Japan, and the existing potential in new Japanese technological sectors.

The rest of the weekend included concerts, martial art exhibitions, show cookings of fusion cuisine, talks about Japanese art and film and expositions of various genres of Japanese art such as kanji script, bonsais, origami, or ukiyo-e.

The “Japó a Castelló” event were organized by the Consistory of Castellón with the cooperation of the Embassy of Japan in Spain, the Japan Research Group of the University of Zaragoza and the Generalitat Valenciana, and with the sponsorship of UBE and Porcelanosa.
