The Spanish Embassy in Tokyo and its top representative, Ambassador Gonzalo de Benito Secades, has been made an Honorary Member of the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE). As part of its aim to promote business and support the interests of Japanese companies in Spain and of Spanish companies in Japan, CEJE continues establishing ties between the two countries.
As Gonzalo de Benito himself pointed out during a meeting held in May with business people and entrepreneurs at Casa Asia, Japan “is the world’s third largest economy and ranks fourth in foreign direct investment.” Therefore, he said, Spanish companies can find attractive business opportunities in certain sectors of the Japanese market such as renewable energy, fashion, consumer goods, and automotive.
