Today the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE) and the Port of Barcelona held the meeting between Spain and Japan, two visions with a common goal. This conference has analyzed the impact of the EU-Japan Economic Cooperation Agreement (EPA) on economic relations between Spain and Japan, as well as the impact of COVID on trade between the two countries. A space for dialogue that has had the presence of Yasushi Sato, Consul General of Japan in Barcelona, ​​José Ignacio Pradas, Territorial Director of Commerce and ICEX in Catalonia, Tatsuya Kato, General Director of Jetro in Spain, and Joan Romero, CEO from Catalonia Trade & Investments. Exports from Spain to Japan have reached 2,725 million euros in 2019. Furthermore, despite the effects of the pandemic, Spanish exports to Japan during the last year have remained at levels very similar to those of 2019, with a fall close to 7%, something well below the European Union, which has fallen by 13.8%, according to ICEX.

The session had more than 100 registered, coming from more than 70 companies.
