CDTI、日本との新たなグローバルスターR&Dプログラム募集を発表

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, participated in the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of Casa Asia in Barcelona.

The minister was accompanied by the general director of Casa Asia, Javier Parrondo; by the commissioner of International Relations and Promotion of the City of Barcelona City Council, Pau Solanilla, and by the general director of Foreign Action of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Anna Dotor.

At the opening ceremony, the minister unveiled the commemorative plaque and highlighted the role of Casa Asia as “the main public diplomacy organization in Spain for the Indo-Pacific region, with a track record of more than 20 years promoting knowledge of that continent in our country”.

He also emphasized “the dynamism and strategic importance of the region” which he described as “the new axis of world power” and pointed out that “Asia is also a source of opportunities for our companies, and a laboratory of numerous social changes, which are beginning to be introduced in the West”.

The headquarters of Casa Asia, known as “la capella de la Casa dels Infants Orfes”, is a building considered as a cultural asset of local interest, which has been ceded by the City Council of Barcelona while the works are being carried out in the Palace of Pedralbes, which will be the final headquarters of the institution.
