中国自動車メーカーMG、初の欧州工場用地を模索中

SAIC Motor, the Chinese manufacturer that owns the MG brand, is looking for locations in Europe to build its first electric car factory in the Old Continent. According to the company, its sales in Europe in the first half of the year doubled to over 115,000 units and it estimates that its deliveries abroad (including markets other than Europe) will exceed 1.2 million cars for the year as a whole. The Chinese giant, which in recent years has landed in several European markets, plans to launch more than ten new models of the MG brand in the next year and a half. In Spain, the company said at the beginning of the year that it expected to end the year with sales of between 22,000 and 23,000 units, which would give it a market share of around 2.5%. So far, in the first six months of 2023, MG sold 12,084 cars, 469.5% more than in 2022.

The MG 4, one of its main bets, has a starting price on the brand’s website of 30,690 euros. This amount can be reduced by 7,000 euros from the Moves III Plan to support the purchase of electric vehicles if the customer scraps an old car. In addition, a private individual could qualify for another 3,000 euros thanks to the personal income tax deduction approved by the Executive last week. Thus, the MG4 can be left with a final value of 20,690 euros.
