The Salón del Manga starts on the trains of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya. At 9 o’clock in the morning wagons full of cosplayers (people disguised as fictional characters) direct to the Europa Fira stop. There begins a procession of costumes to the gates of the Fira de Gran Via venue, which hosts the 28th edition of the event for the first time. Saturday – the third day of four that lasts the Hall – has historically been one of the days of more influx of public, but the change of date and venue have catapulted even more the audiences reaching the no tickets left. “People come with a lot of desire after the pandemic, and the illusion is everywhere,” explains Enrique Marcellán, head of public relations at Nintendo Spain. Attendees come from all over Spain, and some work for months on their cosplay with the illusion that it causes a sensation, and publishers and stores take the opportunity to place their booth in the Salon. This year Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family or Genshin Impact, are some of the costumes that have triumphed.
