アトゥンロとニッスイの合意:食品産業におけるイノベーションへのコミットメント

On the occasion of the inauguration of a new factory, the Xunta de Galicia praised the Galician company Atunlo’s commitment to the circular economy, Industry 4.0 and decarbonization.

The Conselleira do Mar, Rosa Quintana, highlighted the pioneering project of the new Atunlo factory in O Grove: it will process tuna heads in order to obtain tuna oil for human consumption.

This project seeks to make the best use of the raw material by using renewable energy, and has been made possible thanks to the agreement between the Galician company and the Japanese multinational Nissui. Under this agreement, the entire production of this plant will be exported to Japan.

The neutralized tuna oil, rich in Omega-3, will be used in the food industry, mainly for baby food products.

Rosa Quintana highlighted “the generation of highly qualified employment, given the high degree of automation of the new process” and emphasized that “companies like Atunlo are an example of sustainability, innovation and quality”.
