Today the seminar “Bilateral Investments Spain and Japan” took place. at the facilities of Foment del Treball Nacional, organized by the Círculo Empresarial Japan España, with the collaboration of Foment del Treball. It has been a key meeting point for analyzing trade relations and bilateral investments, as well as future opportunities that arise, and the important role of public-private collaboration for their expansion.

The day had the interventions of Yasushi Sato, Consul General of Japan in Barcelona; Tatsuya Kato, General Director of Jetro in Spain; José Ignacio Pradas, Territorial Director of Commerce and ICEX in Catalonia; Joan Romero, Executive Director of Catalonia Trade & Investment; Alfonso Cervera, Managing Director, Mizuho Bank Europe N.V. Madrid Branch; Guillermo Díaz Sevilla, Director of the Banc Sabadell Representative Office in Shanghai; Alfred Prada, Partner / Partner Strategy and Transactions at Ernst & Young.


The speakers agreed that Japan is a country that still has a long way to go to increase trade and investment relations with Spain and they have positively valued the possibilities of cooperation between Spain and Japan in joint projects in third countries. On the other hand, the need to support our companies, especially SMEs, in the search for partners in Japan, in projects linked to the new economy, has been addressed. The Japanese Consul General in Barcelona, ​​for his part, has encouraged all Spanish companies to strengthen their relations with their country.
