Spanish gastronomy promoted in Japan
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, through the Food from Spain strategy, held several promotional events in June designed to present Spanish products to food and beverage importers in several Asian countries, including Japan.
The events consisted of open days, with the aim of positioning Spanish products by promoting the excellence and diversity of Spanish gastronomy. Spanish companies, organisations and associations of differentiated quality (PGI) and autonomous communities were able to exhibit their products at stands and carry out activities related to Spanish culture and gastronomy.
In Japan, open days are being held in different cities in the country to attract the Japanese food sector. On 9 July, Foods and Wines from Spain will be held in Osaka to bring Spanish importers closer to the players in the Japanese sector. Last year, the fairs in Tokyo and Osaka attracted more than 700 visitors and 86 exhibitors. This year’s edition, held on 19 June, has included the fair in the city of Fukuoka to further diversify the network of importers.
