Master’s Degree in Financial Technologies: the first of its kind in Spain
The Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, together with BBVA and our patron NTT DATA, have presented the Master’s Degree in Financial Technologies: Payments and Digital Banking. This is the first master’s degree of its kind to be offered in Spain.
According to Cristóbal Cantos, professor at Comillas ICAI and coordinator of the master’s degree, it is “the perfect fusion between the academic excellence of Comillas ICAI and the technologies that will allow us to tackle the current and future financial models that are transforming this sector at breakneck speed.
Thus, the training will be completed with paid internships in which students will be able to develop a real project for the application of financial technologies – Big Data, AI, Blockhain, Machine learning… -.
“We are living through a period of unprecedented disruption driven by innovation in many fields. New technologies such as AI, the Internet of Things, blockchain or quantum computing are transforming the way we live, work and interact,” explains Fernando Bellón, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at BBVA.
For her part, Mª Jesús Jiménez, head of the global Digital Financial Services unit at NTT DATA, emphasizes that “the continuous training of new profiles in a sector as dynamic and competitive as banking is not only smart, but helps to build a more digital and technological future that benefits our customers, and of course, society in general”.
