Jorge Lasheras receives the 2016 Prize from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan

The Japanese government has awarded this distinction to the current President of the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE) in recognition of his defining contribution to the promotion of mutual understanding between Spain and Japan.

 

This prize is awarded to individuals and groups that have achieved notable success at the international level, and aims to recognize contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. This year, a total of 31 groups and 142 individuals were awarded the prize worldwide.

 

Jorge Lasheras, former President and Managing Director of the Yamaha Motor subsidiary in Spain, is the current President of the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE), whose objective is to encourage mutual exchanges between Japanese and Spanish companies with interests in both countries. Through CEJE, Lasheras is responsible for promoting the strengthening of economic relationships between the two countries, in addition to encouraging commercial and institutional exchanges and contributing to the dissemination of the Japanese business culture in Spain.
