Japan is already designing its smart city model

Renewable energies, electric mobility, autonomous vehicles and pedestrian paths are some of the characteristics of the pilot project for the future smart city in Japan. At the foot of the snowy Mount Fuji, a group of three hundred and sixty inhabitants, including inventors, seniors and young families, will put its functionalities to the test. In the long term, it will host about two thousand inhabitants. With an area of 70 hectares, it will be called Toyota Woven City (the interwoven city, in English) and it will be a reality in the middle of this decade.
