The Japanese multinational Otsuka, founded by Busaburo Otsuka, celebrated its centenary in Barcelona, at the residence of the Consul General of Japan in Barcelona, Yasushi Sato. The Spanish subsidiary has been in the country for 42 years and is the most relevant in Europe in terms of staff volume, turnover and marketing of products.
The event was attended as a speaker by Etsuro Sotoo, the chief sculptor and artistic head of the Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia; and Roger Torrent, Minister of Business and Labour of the Generalitat de Catalunya and former president of the Parliament of Catalonia.
