CEJE members’ lunch with Pau Relat, President of Fira de Barcelona
The Círculo Empresarial Japón España (CEJE) has initiated a series of meetings/lunches with personalities from different fields to discuss current, interesting and important topics for the development of business activities.
In this third lunch held on Wednesday 23 October at the Círculo Ecuestre, the members had the opportunity to meet and talk with the president of the Fira de Barcelona, Pau Relat, who shared his vision of Barcelona’s role as a global reference point.
During the meeting, Relat highlighted the importance of public-private collaboration in the success of the Fira de Barcelona, an institution that has positioned itself among the ten most important trade fairs in Europe and a leader in Spain. ‘Without prosperity, there is nothing to share’, said Relat, who underlined the objective of turning the exhibition centre into a world reference show. Relat explained how, in recent years, Barcelona has attracted major international events, including the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade fair and the Mobile World Congress.
The President of the Fira also pointed out Barcelona’s competitive advantages, highlighting the excellent value for money in the hotel sector, its highly connected airport with Europe, and its varied logistical, cultural and gastronomic offer.
At the end of his speech, CEJE members had the opportunity to exchange views with Pau Relat on the future of Barcelona and Catalonia as economic development hubs, as well as on the importance of keeping the city at the top of European destinations for business tourism and the productive economy.
