The RETIPATCH project aims to develop a new “tamponade agent” to be used at the end of vitrectomies in cases of retinal detachment. The project is made up of researchers from the Ophthalmology Department of the Germans Trias i Pujol Health Sciences Research Institute Foundation (IGTP) and by the IQS GEMAT (Materials Engineering Group) research group, led by Dr. Salvador Borrós and Dra. Cristina Fornaguera. ETIPATCH is part of the projects that make up the CaixaImpulse Validate 2019 program, which seeks to transfer to society the results of innovative research projects in the field of health and medical sciences.
