Japan’s gross domestic product (GDP) experienced an expansion of 1.7% in 2021, compared to the contraction of 4.5% registered in 2020 and the fall in activity of 0.2% in 2019, according to data published on Tuesday by the Japanese government.
Japanese GDP growth in 2021 as a whole reflects the boost in Japanese household consumption, with an annual increase of 1.2%, after the 5.9% drop observed in 2020.
