On February 4, 2023, the Association of Japanese Language Teachers in Spain (APJE, President; Norika Itakura), together with the Japan Foundation, held its 14th General Assembly and Seminar in Madrid. This year’s Assembly featured a lecture and workshop by Dr. Kumiko Nakanishi, Professor of Japanese Language at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, and was a significant moment of new perspectives and learning for the participating Japanese teachers. The APJE General Assembly and workshops are a valuable annual opportunity for Japanese teachers working in Spain and other parts of Europe, often in isolation, to exchange information and deepen friendships with their colleagues, as well as to gain new methods and perspectives.
