On Tuesday, 17 February, a delegation from the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE) held an institutional meeting with the recently appointed new Ambassador of Japan to Spain, Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi, to present the association and share the main lines of its activity plan for 2026.
The meeting took place at the Embassy headquarters in Madrid, and alongside the Ambassador, was attended by Mr Kazuki Ishimaru, First Secretary and Commercial Attaché, and Ms Mika Horie, Coordinator, Economics Section.
Representing the Japan-Spain Business Circle (CEJE) were President Jorge Lasheras, Yoshiyuki Matsuoka, Director of Shinto Tsuchin; Avril Barthe-Larrègle, General Manager of Panasonic; Marc Guimerá, partner at NTT DATA; Félix Hazen, Managing Director of Yamaha Music Europe, who presented the organisation’s mission, vision and strategic priorities, as well as the projects planned for this year.
During the meeting, CEJE presented its calendar of initiatives for 2026, focused on strengthening the presence of Japanese businesses in Spain, promoting cooperation with Spanish companies, and creating spaces for institutional dialogue. Possible avenues for collaboration with the Embassy were also discussed in order to promote joint activities that favour business exchange and the development of bilateral opportunities between Japan and Spain.
The Ambassador praised the work carried out by CEJE and showed interest in the proposals put forward, highlighting the importance of promoting the active participation of the business community in bilateral relations.
