CEJE participates in the 25th Spain-Japan Forum with a business breakfast at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce.

The president of the Japan Spain Business Circle (CEJE), Jorge Lasheras, participated on October 24 in a business breakfast held at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, within the framework of the 25th Spain-Japan Forum, a meeting that reaffirms the strength of the strategic link between both countries.

During his speech, Lasheras presented CEJE’s work as a platform to promote economic and business relations between Spain and Japan, as well as the main conclusions of the Business Climate report, carried out in 2024, which analyzes the important role that Japanese investment and companies play in Spain. His participation underlined the importance of innovation, quality and long-term commitment as differentiating factors of Japanese investment in Spain.

The Spain-Japan Forum, organized by the Spain Japan Foundation Council and the Japan Spain Foundation, was held in Barcelona from October 22 to 24 under the slogan “Shared vision, common challenges: reinforcing the Spain-Japan alliance”. This edition took place in a context of profound global transformation, characterized by the reconfiguration of the international order, geopolitical tensions and the effects of climate change. In this scenario, Spain and Japan recognize each other as strategic partners, united by a shared vision based on multilateralism, respect for international law, the promotion of innovation and the search for sustainable solutions to major global challenges.

With more than two decades of experience, the Forum has established itself as a stable platform for institutional, economic and cultural cooperation. In this 25th edition, the debates revolved around three thematic axes of special relevance: the redefinition of international alliances in a changing economic landscape, the management of natural disasters as a shared challenge, and food security through innovation in the agri-food sector. Likewise, the new challenges of international tourism were addressed, in an increasingly competitive global environment and with travelers with constantly evolving expectations.

The business breakfast held at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce marked the closing of the Forum’s program. This meeting allowed CEJE to consolidate its position as a benchmark interlocutor in the business field, promoting cooperation, knowledge exchange and the creation of new opportunities for companies in both countries.
