Toyota Launches Residential Storage Battery System in Japan
Toyota Motor Corporation has launched a storage battery system for residential use, called O-Uchi Kyuden, based on the battery technology of electric vehicles, the company said in a statement.
The O-Uchi Kyuden system uses the technology of electrified vehicle batteries to provide a rated capacity of 8.7 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and a rated power of 5.5 kWh. This guarantees security and provides a supply of electricity to the entire house, even during power cuts caused by natural disasters in the Japanese country.
