CEJE、日本に関心のあるスペイン企業と並んで

The Japan Spain Business Circle (CEJE), represented by its president Jorge Lasheras, has participated in the event “How to face the Japanese market successfully”. The event, promoted by Cuatrecasas and organized jointly with Foment del Treball, has fulfilled the objective of offering advice and tools to Spanish companies that are considering establishing commercial relations with Japan.

The event, which was held at the headquarters of Foment and brought together business personalities from different fields, was attended by Mr. Naohito Watanabe, Consul General of Japan in Barcelona, who was in charge of closing the session. This day of business knowledge exchange was opened by David Tornos, Secretary General of Foment del Treball; Albert Garrofé, Lawyer and Partner of the M&A Commercial Area (Cuatrecasas) and Jorge Lasheras, president of CEJE.

Subsequently, Mr. Kenta Nishikora, Lawyer of the Mori Hamada firm and who is currently in a Cuatrecasas exchange program, has made a presentation analyzing the opportunities and particularities of the Japanese market. “Japan is currently the third largest economy in the world and the Economic Association Agreement with the European Union should give a boost to the exchange of goods and services,” said Nishikora before issuing a recommendation to Spanish companies that want to enter Japan: “Doing it without help is rare, but possible, and requires experience and knowledge of Japanese business and its culture. That is why the most common approach is through an association with local companies – small or medium – and the search for a relevant distributor ”.

The central part of the event was carried out by a Round Table, where Mª Ángeles Juan, Vice President of J.Juan, and Ignasi Nieto, Deputy General Director of Miquel and Costas & Miquel, shared their professional experience on their commercial relations with the market Japanese. After a discussion that has given the public a voice, the participants in the event have enjoyed coffee and pastries to exchange opinions and promote networking, both individually and corporately.
